We are seeking contributors for CreatedHere’s winter issue – Ode to Studios.
As winter approaches, many of us cringe as we remember the shoveling and the cold. This year, let’s rebrand winter in New Brunswick. The cold brings with it a surreal sort of beauty, and the opportunity for cozying up in our studios. It is a time of creativity as we hunker down with our artistic mediums, and take a moment to quietly listen to our inspirations and our fellow artists.
Ode to Studios will be our annual winter theme. This year our team will visit and document artist studios in central NB (for our purposes that means Fredericton, Gagetown, Kingsclear, Oromocto, Minto, Stanley, St Mary’s and nearby areas). We will take the opportunity to travel to a different region every year.
We are seeking:
invitations for our team to visit your central NB studio in October to capture you in your element
photographic tours of cozy artist studios and comfortable gatherings of artists
artwork and photography that explores winter or the embrace of a seasonal lifestyle
musings and poetry about the winter landscape and the artist’s place within it
We will be focusing less on long-form articles and more on largescale, calming imagery with short-form writing. Think coffee table book.
We are open to any and all ideas that creatively fit this theme. Anyone may submit – all mediums, genders, cultures, identities. Up to 10 contributors will be selected and they will each receive an $80 honorarium upon completion.
