Karen Stentaford: The Original Blueprint: Cyanotype workshop
$30 non-members, $25 members
Before digital photography, before Polaroid, before print film, before everything you know about film photography, there was cyanotype – a process dating back to 1842. In this hands-on workshop participants will use the sun’s rays to expose photographs without a camera. Chemistry preparation, coating surfaces, exposing and developing images will be covered. The process is immediate, the images are blue, and the results are magical.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own semi-transparent materials such as black and white negatives, x-rays, collected natural materials such as pressed leaves and flowers, or photocopies of drawings to experiment with. All other materials will be supplied.
