NotaBle Acts Festival and the coop invite you to join them for a critical conversation about the importance of researching, documenting and sharing queer history that we hope will frame the presentation of the new work, Fruit Machine. The discussion will feature the voices of Fruit Machine creator and Artistic Director, Alex Rioux, The Queer Heritage Initiative Co-Founders, Dusty Green and Meredith Batt and RCMP purge survivor Diane Doiron and will be moderated by coop Co-Artistic Director Lisa Anne Ross

The conversation is meant to highlight the need to actively archive and document queer history, which was until recently suppressed and hidden, to explore specifically the barbaric practices of the RCMP perpetrated against their LGBTQ+ members from the 50’s to the 90’s and to examine the importance of theatre and other arts forms in bringing these stories to the public eye.

Please join them after the chat for a Pay What You Can performance of the coop’s Fruit Machine that uses physical theatre to unpack the questionable practices of the RCMP that targeted the LGBTQ+ community in the 50’s and 60’s.
