Guided Bug Walk with Professor Stephen Heard and Artist Allison Green

Due to popular demand, we are offering a second Bug Walk on July 11!

Experience an evening of exploration and discovery by attending this insect walk with UNB Prof. Stephen Heard and Textile Artist Allison Green. They will seek out and learn about our amazing local insects as we wander the grounds at the Fredericton Botanic Garden and Odell Park. They will also see a collection of insect specimens, and learn how insects can be used for artistic inspiration.

Please come prepared for a leisurely walk in the gardens and woods, with good footwear, outdoor-friendly clothing, and drinking water. They will meet at 7pm at the Fredericton Botanic Garden Resource Centre, 10 Cameron Ct.

This event is free and open to all, but requires pre-registration as there are limited spaces. Please note that not all of the trails they traverse will be wheelchair accessible, but if you reach out in advance they will make an effort to accommodate.

This event is part of Allison Green’s insect-themed Artist Residency at the Fredericton Botanic Garden. The insects uncovered during this walk and her subsequent time in the Garden will inspire future textile artwork. This event is made possible by the Fredericton Botanic Garden and the City of Fredericton.
