The End of the Line

CreatedHere was a non-profit visual arts magazine focused on uncovering the stories of New Brunswick artists. It was in publication for 7 years, from 2015 to 2022. This website remains to commemorate the publication and as an archive to CreatedHere’s online articles, thanks to the generous support of ArtsLink NB. CreatedHere’s legacy continues in perpetuity with the closing donation of $20,243 to form an annual scholarship for excellence in arts writing.

Working closely with you, the amazing art community of New Brunswick and beyond, was the best part of this journey. Your perseverance helped us to persist through many difficult moments and your passion pushed us to create some really cool publications in your honour.

None of this was possible without the financial and in-kind support of funders like the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design, the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, artsnb, the Government of Canada, the Investment Readiness Program, the University of New Brunswick, FutureReady NB, Magnet and Working NB, and our many subscribers and advertisers. There was no lack of goodwill in the community, but it was the fiscally responsible decision to end this project and make room for others to thrive in its place.

We have been proud to be caretakers of this idea – the idea of amplifying the reach of New Brunswick artists – and we can’t wait to see where it surfaces next. In fact, it’s all around us now, with organizations like Connexion ARC, Third Space, and ArtsLink NB pursuing exciting arts writing projects of their own. CreatedHere has come to an end but it is not the end of this idea.

New Brunswick artists, you are worthy of great things, and we hope CreatedHere Magazine helped to show you that.
